  • ORIGIN: Castellamare selection obtained at Vitroplant
  • HEAD: large, flattened globular shape with a characteristic hollow, intense purple colour, compact, thick pulpy bracts
  • VEGETATIVE VIGOUR: medium

  • HARVEST PERIOD: precocious (central/southern Italy)

# FEATURES: the specific phenotypical features and vegetative behaviour of the C3 are unstable and influenced by environmental and agronomic stress. In particular it is now clear that the typical features of the C3 such as its precociousness and uniformity can only be obtained from micro-propagated plants, which are used as mother plants to obtain traditional type plants that over time lose the phenotypical features of the head and especially the precociousness with the appearance of late examples.
