THE ADVANTAGES OF OLIVE MICROPROPAGATION COMPARED WITH TRADITIONAL TECHNIQUES

In micropropagated olive plants we can obtain:
Attainment of uniform plants, superior vegetative vigour, better resistance to adverse climatic conditions during the early years of development, the origin from one single mother plant offers greater sanitary guarantees and a certain genetic identity, rapid multiplication and production efficiency, flexibility in production planning, propagation of varieties that do not respond well to traditional methods, production of plants suitable for export.
# Olive plants produced by “in vitro” multiplication require a light pruning during first phase of productionr.
# Are available plants obtained from micropropagation and traditional coltivation.
